Hotel Villa Florencia Carbon Offset Program
The Carbon Offset Program is a voluntary program in which individuals, companies or governments can compensate (offset) the greenhouse gas emissions from electricity use and transportation. All this is done in an attempt to promote sustainable development and tourism.
Here in Costa Rica the Ministry of Environmental Affairs has developed a program in which tourists can compensate for their carbon emissions caused by international flights and car rental by investing in programs which preserve and reforest natural areas within Costa Rica.
